Little Black Bag Causes Big Trouble
Mary Ann grew quite excited yesterday when she spotted a little black velvet bag, with drawstring, sitting prominently on the kitchen table. Imagine her consternation, then dismay, then acting out, when the bag proved to hold nothing but some inexpensive computer parts I’d purchased at Walgreens.
Oops…I Guess Eliot Is A Creep
When I wrote yesterday’s heartrending post about Eliot Spitzer, I didn’t know much about him as a person. I did know about his crusades against big business and Wall Street, and that was enough to make him a good guy in my book. Well, I should have separated the deeds from the person. From every account, Eliot is an arrogant egotist who made few friends and lots of enemies with his utter lack of civility. Plus, I can understand succumbing to temptation, but it appears that he did so on a regularly-scheduled basis. Not so good, Eliot. So I guess I won’t be grieving his absence as much as I thought. The new governor of New York is a Democrat and seems competent, so life will go on there.
I wonder what enormous law firm will hire Mr. Spitzer as soon as the smoke clears. As a compulsive whoremonger, he should fit right in.
